What if I told you that failure doesn’t exist?

I know.

As soon as you read that, your flesh just yelled at you that this is a lie.

This isn’t true.

Because the moment you read those words, your mind may have started pulling up memories.

The thing that did not work.
The relationship that ended.
The plan that collapsed.
The opportunity you missed.
The business that did not grow.
The vision for the ministry that God gave you — that, in your disobedience, you decided to turn into a nonprofit — and the idea did not launch the way you hoped.
The version of yourself you thought you would be by now.

You may be thinking, “No, failure is real. I have proof.”

But what if I told you that your flesh has been believing a lie and convinced you that it was true?

Before you close this devotional, deciding that I have lost all of my senses, let me cook — and watch the work of the Holy Spirit.

Failure is a concluding word.

It is a word used when something has reached the end and the final outcome is being measured.

After the test is submitted.
After the race is over.
After the project is complete.
After the process has ended.
After the story has reached its final page.

Then someone looks at the result and decides whether it succeeded or failed.

But here is the question:

If you are still alive, who told you your life was finished?

If breath is still in your body, how can your story already be over?

If God Almighty is still waking you up, still sustaining you, still correcting you, still teaching you, still calling you, still giving you another opportunity to obey Him, how can failure be the final verdict?

It cannot.

Not while you are still living.

Not while God Almighty is still working.

Failure is a final verdict, and you do not have the authority to declare final what God Almighty is still working on.

Failure doesn’t exist. God is still working, so nothing is wasted.

Who Taught You That Word?

If failure is a concluding word, then we need to ask another question:

Who taught you that word?

Who introduced you to the idea that you had the ultimate authority to decide that an outcome, a delay, a mistake, a closed door, a lost opportunity, a collapsed plan, or a painful season was a thing called “failure”?

Who taught you to measure life that way?

Who taught you to call unfinished things failed?

Because this is not simply about a person calling themselves “a failure.” This is bigger than that.

We are confronting the entire thought pattern of failure itself.

What if failure is not reality at all?

What if failure is a construct created outside of Truth?

What if the very thing you called failure was actually correction?

What if it was protection?

What if it was redirection?

What if it was preparation?

What if it was pruning?

What if it was God Almighty exposing what could not go with you into the next place?

What if it did not fail?

What if it served its purpose?

In the garden, after Adam and Eve sinned, Adam hid from the presence of the LORD God. When God called unto him, Adam said:

“I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
Genesis 3:10, KJV

But God Almighty asked him:

“Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?”
Genesis 3:11, KJV

God Almighty was not asking because He lacked knowledge.

He was exposing the source.

Adam had received information from another voice. He had accepted an interpretation God Almighty had not given him. That interpretation produced fear, shame, hiding, covering, and separation.

So I have to ask you:

Who told you failure was real?

Did God Almighty say that?

Or did the accuser introduce vocabulary from a fallen system to make you interpret your life apart from the sovereignty, redemption, workmanship, and purpose of God Almighty?

Because if the enemy can convince you that failure is real, he does not have to physically stop you.

He only has to get you to agree with a lie.

He only has to get you to sit down.

He only has to get you to hide.

He only has to get you to stop trying, stop building, stop obeying, stop hoping, and stop walking in the good works God Almighty already created you to do in Christ Jesus.

But the Word of God says:

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10, KJV

So take failure off the table.

Remove it from your vocabulary.

It is not Truth.

It is not reality.

It is not your verdict.

It is not the language of the Father.

It is vocabulary from a fallen system, and you do not have to speak it over what God Almighty is still working.

Failure doesn’t exist. God is still working, so nothing is wasted.

What If Failure Doesn’t Exist?

What would you attempt, if failing was not an option?

No, really.

Pause and let that question hit you.

What would you do if failure was no longer sitting in the corner of your mind, threatening you before you ever took the first step?

What would you build if you stopped needing the outcome to validate the obedience?

What would you start if you stopped bowing to the possibility of being misunderstood?

What would you finish if you stopped calling delay defeat?

What would you try again if you stopped letting the last season testify against the next one?

What would you repent of if you finally understood correction was not rejection?

What would you surrender if you stopped trying to protect yourself from a word that is not even Truth?

Because here is where the mind has to be renewed:

The question was never, “What if I fail?”

That question came from fear.

And the Word of God says:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7, KJV

So if the question is rooted in fear, then it is not coming from the Spirit of God.

It is coming from flesh.
It is coming from the accuser.
It is coming from a fallen system that taught you to measure obedience by outcome instead of submission.

God Almighty did not give you a spirit of fear.

He gave you power.

He gave you love.

He gave you a sound mind.

A sound mind does not agree with the lie of failure.

A sound mind does not take an unfinished process and pronounce it dead.

A sound mind does not allow fear to become lord over obedience.

The real question is:

“What did God Almighty tell me to do?”

That is where the whole thing shifts.

Because if God Almighty told you to move, then obedience is your responsibility.

What He does with your obedience is His.

You are not sovereign.

You are not all-knowing.

You are not the Author and Finisher.

You do not know the end from the beginning.

You do not have enough information to call something failure.

You do not get to take one chapter, one season, one attempt, one loss, one collapse, one delay, one hard lesson, and declare a final verdict over what God Almighty is still working.

The Word of God says:

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Philippians 4:13, KJV

That does not mean every plan you create will unfold the way you imagined.

It means your strength is in Christ.

Not your track record.

Not your resources.

Not your reputation.

Not your feelings.

Not your ability to control the outcome.

Christ.

So if your strength is in Christ, why is fear of failure governing your obedience?

If Christ strengthens you, why are you letting a word God Almighty did not give you decide what you will or will not attempt?

If Jesus Christ defeated death, hell, and the grave, why are you letting an imaginary verdict called failure speak louder than the victory of your Lord and Savior?

No.

Take failure off the table.

Remove it from the conversation.

Evict it from your vocabulary.

You are not afraid of failure because failure is not real.

You are responsible for obedience.

God Almighty is responsible for what He does with it.

Say that again until your mind catches up with Truth:

I am not afraid of failure, because failure is not real. I am responsible for obedience. God Almighty is responsible for what He does with it.

That means you can move without needing the outcome to prove your worth.

You can obey without knowing every detail.

You can repent without believing correction cancels your calling.

You can start over without calling yourself behind.

You can release what collapsed without calling it wasted.

You can gather the fragments without being ashamed of the broken pieces.

You can be taught by what happened without being named by what happened.

You can live.

Not perform.

Not prove.

Not hide.

Live.

Because your life is not being held together by your perfect record.

Your life is being held together in Jesus Christ.

Failure doesn’t exist. God is still working, so nothing is wasted.

What If It Worked Exactly How God Knew It Would?

Sometimes we call something failure because it did not work out the way we expected.

But what if it worked out exactly how God Almighty knew it would?

What if the part you called failure was not outside of His knowledge?

What if it was not outside of His plan?

What if it was not outside of His timing?

What if it was not outside of His control?

What if you were judging the middle of the story as if it were the end?

Because let me ask you something:

When Judas betrayed Jesus Christ, was that failure?

No.

It was betrayal.
It was wicked.
It was painful.
It was real.

But it was not failure.

The betrayal of Judas did not surprise God Almighty. It did not interrupt heaven. It did not overthrow the plan. It did not snatch authority out of the hands of the Sovereign Lord.

The Word of God says:

“Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:”
Acts 2:23, KJV

Do you see that?

Determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God.

Jesus Christ was not crucified because heaven lost control.

Jesus Christ was not crucified because the enemy won.

Jesus Christ was not crucified because the plan failed.

He was delivered according to the counsel and foreknowledge of God Almighty.

And yes, wicked hands were still wicked.

Betrayal was still betrayal.

Sin was still sin.

But none of it had enough power to stop what God Almighty had already purposed.

That is sovereignty.

The disciples saw their Teacher arrested.

They saw Him beaten.

They saw Him mocked.

They saw Him nailed to a cross.

They saw His body placed in a tomb.

Friday looked like failure, and they had to have been shocked.

But Saturday?

Saturday may have felt like the ultimate failure.

Because He had not risen yet.

Can you imagine how the disciples felt on that Saturday?

Can you imagine them sitting there, trying to make sense of everything they had seen?

They had left homes, routines, livelihoods, comfort, familiarity, and their former lives to follow Jesus Christ.

They had watched Him heal the sick.

They had watched Him cast out devils.

They had watched Him feed multitudes.

They had heard Him teach with authority.

They had believed He was the One.

And now His body was in a tomb.

From where they stood, it may have looked like all of it had been in vain.

They may have thought, “It is over.”

They may have thought, “We were wrong.”

They may have thought, “We left everything for this.”

They may have thought, “The mission failed.”

And not only were they grieving — they had to have been afraid.

Their Leader had been killed.

So what would happen to them?

We know fear was present because Peter denied even knowing Jesus Christ three times.

The Word of God says:

“Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the Man. And immediately the cock crew.”
Matthew 26:74, KJV

Peter was afraid enough to deny association with the very Lord he loved.

So yes, Saturday was heavy.

Saturday was quiet.

Saturday was confusing.

Saturday was the space between promise and fulfillment.

Saturday was the day where, to the natural eye, nothing looked victorious.

But Saturday was not the end.

They were standing in the middle of the story, trying to interpret the conclusion before God Almighty revealed the resurrection.

Friday looked like failure.

Saturday felt like failure.

But Sunday revealed sovereignty.

The crucifixion was not the end of the story.

The grave was not the final word.

Death did not win.

Hell did not win.

The enemy did not win.

Jesus Christ rose.

And because Jesus Christ rose, we have to be careful about calling something failure just because we are standing somewhere between Friday and Sunday.

The Word of God says:

“Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”
1 Corinthians 2:8, KJV

They thought they were ending Him.

They were fulfilling what they did not understand.

They thought the cross was defeat.

God Almighty made it the place of victory.

They thought the tomb was final.

God Almighty made it evidence.

They thought death had Him.

But Jesus Christ had the keys.

So again, I ask you:

How can there be such a thing as failure when God Almighty is sovereign?

How can there be such a thing as failure when the Lord declares the end from the beginning?

The Word of God says:

“Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure:”
Isaiah 46:10, KJV

God Almighty is not guessing.

He is not reacting.

He is not scrambling.

He is not in heaven saying, “Well, that did not work. Let Me try something else.”

No.

He declares the end from the beginning.

His counsel shall stand.

He will do all His pleasure.

So before you call something failure, remember this:

You do not know the end from the beginning.

You do not see the whole picture.

You do not know what God Almighty protected you from.

You do not know what He was preparing you for.

You do not know what He exposed so it could not continue with you.

You do not know what He allowed to collapse because He loved you too much to let you keep building on something He did not ordain.

You do not know what He used to humble you, mature you, sharpen you, correct you, deliver you, redirect you, or position you.

That is why His Word says:

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9, KJV

His thoughts are higher.

His ways are higher.

His view is higher.

His purpose is higher.

So what you called delay may have been protection.

What you called rejection may have been redirection.

What you called loss may have been pruning.

What you called embarrassment may have been humility being formed.

What you called starting over may have been God Almighty rescuing you from finishing the wrong thing.

What you called failure may have been the mercy of God Almighty interrupting your plan so His purpose could stand.

Because the Word of God says:

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28, KJV

All things.

Not some things.

Not just the things you understood.

Not just the things that felt good.

Not just the things that looked successful.

All things.

The painful things.

The confusing things.

The humbling things.

The disappointing things.

The things that broke your heart.

The people who mishandled you.

The job you did not like.

The season you did not understand.

The closed door.

The detour.

The delay.

The correction.

The thing you once called failure.

All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

The Word does not say all things are good.

It says all things work together for good.

That means the bad thing does not have to be good by itself in order for God Almighty to work it together for good.

Betrayal was not good.

The cross was painful.

The grave was real.

But God Almighty was still working.

And because He was still working, nothing was wasted.

Not the betrayal.

Not the suffering.

Not the blood.

Not the tomb.

Not the silence between Friday and Sunday.

Nothing was wasted.

So how can there be such a thing as failure when God Almighty works all things together for the good of them that love Him?

There cannot be.

Not in Truth.

Not in Christ.

Not under the sovereignty of the Lord.

Because if God Almighty is still working it together, then it is not wasted.

And if it is not wasted, then it did not fail.

It may have hurt.

It may have humbled you.

It may have corrected you.

It may have exposed something.

It may have redirected you.

It may have stripped pride off you.

It may have taught you obedience.

It may have revealed who was truly with you.

It may have shown you what could not go forward.

But if God Almighty is working it together for good, failure has no place to stand.

And this is why we must look at Jesus Christ.

The Word of God says:

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:
And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.
And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.
For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell;
And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.”
Colossians 1:15-20, KJV

Jesus Christ is before all things.

By Him all things consist.

That means all things are held together in Him.

Visible things.

Invisible things.

Things in heaven.

Things in earth.

Thrones.

Dominions.

Principalities.

Powers.

All things were created by Him and for Him.

He is the Head of the body, the church.

He is the beginning.

He is the firstborn from the dead.

In all things, He has the preeminence.

So where does failure fit?

If Jesus Christ is before all things, then failure is not before Him.

If by Jesus Christ all things consist, then failure is not holding anything together.

If Jesus Christ is the firstborn from the dead, then death itself had to bow.

If all fullness dwells in Him, then failure cannot stand beside Him as truth.

If God Almighty reconciled all things to Himself by the blood of Jesus Christ, then failure does not get to speak as final over what the blood has already answered.

Failure cannot outrank the blood.

Failure cannot outrank the cross.

Failure cannot outrank the resurrection.

Failure cannot outrank the sovereignty of God Almighty.

Failure cannot outrank Jesus Christ.

So take failure off the table.

Remove it from your vocabulary.

Stop giving it authority.

Stop letting it interpret your life.

Stop letting it name your obedience.

Stop letting it define your process.

Stop letting it speak over what God Almighty is still working.

Failure does not exist.

God Almighty is still working.

And because He is still working, nothing is wasted.

Nothing.

Not the fragments.

Not the tears.

Not the lessons.

Not the correction.

Not the waiting.

Not the pruning.

Not the detour.

Not the chapter you misunderstood.

Not the season you thought disqualified you.

Nothing is wasted in the hands of the Sovereign Lord.

So the next time your flesh tries to call something failure, answer it with Truth:

God Almighty is sovereign.

Jesus Christ has the victory.

All things work together for good to them that love God.

His counsel shall stand.

His ways are higher.

My life is held together in Christ.

I am responsible for obedience. God Almighty is responsible for what He does with it.

And if God Almighty is responsible for what He does with it, then I will not call it failure.

I will call it submitted.

I will call it surrendered.

I will call it used.

I will call it worked together.

I will call it redeemed.

I will call it nothing wasted.

Failure doesn’t exist. God is still working, so nothing is wasted.

Spoken Prayer

Father God, in the Name of Jesus Christ,

I come before You in humility, surrender, and truth.

I repent for every time I agreed with the word failure.

I repent for every time I gave an outcome, a delay, a disappointment, a mistake, a closed door, a painful season, or an unfinished chapter the authority to speak over what You are still working.

Forgive me for using a word that You did not give me.

Forgive me for calling something a failure when You were still forming me.

Forgive me for calling something a failure when You were correcting me.

Forgive me for calling something a failure when You were protecting me.

Forgive me for calling something a failure when You were redirecting me.

Forgive me for calling something a failure when You were working all things together for my good.

In the Name of Jesus Christ, I remove the word failure from my vocabulary.

I take it off the table.

I break agreement with the lie that failure is real.

I break agreement with the lie that an outcome has authority over obedience.

I break agreement with the lie that disappointment means defeat.

I break agreement with the lie that correction means rejection.

I break agreement with the lie that starting over means I lost.

I break agreement with the lie that what hurt me was wasted.

I break agreement with the lie that my story is finished while You are still giving me breath.

Father God, I submit my life back to Your sovereignty, in Jesus Name.

You are the Lord.

You are all-knowing.

You are all-powerful.

You declare the end from the beginning.

Your counsel shall stand.

Your ways are higher than my ways.

Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts.

You work all things together for good, to them that love You, to them who are the called, according to Your purpose.

So today, I stop trying to judge the middle of the story like it is the end.

I renounce my agreement with fear. You didn’t give me the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Fear will no longer govern my obedience, in Jesus Name.

I stop letting my flesh testify louder than Your Word.

I stop letting the accuser interpret what belongs to You.

Jesus Christ, You are before all things.

By You, all things consist.

You are the Head of the body, the church.

You are the firstborn from the dead.

You defeated death, hell, and the grave.

You made peace through the blood You shed, on the cross.

You reconciled all things unto Yourself.

You have the victory.

So failure cannot outrank You.

Failure cannot outrank Your blood.

Failure cannot outrank the cross.

Failure cannot outrank Your resurrection.

Failure cannot outrank the sovereignty of God Almighty.

Failure cannot speak final over anything You are still holding together.

I declare that my life is not held together by my perfect record.

My life is held together in and by, Jesus Christ.

I am not afraid of failure, because failure is not real.

I am responsible for obedience.

God Almighty is responsible for what He does with it.

So I will obey.

I will move when You tell me to move.

I will speak when You tell me to speak.

I will build when You tell me to build.

I will stop when You tell me to stop.

I will repent when You correct me.

I will surrender what You tell me to release.

I will gather the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

I will not call wasted what You are still using.

I will not call failure what You are still working.

I will not call dead what You have the power to resurrect.

I will not call finished what You have not finished.

Father God, renew my mind.

Purify my language.

Correct my thinking.

Strengthen my obedience.

Anchor me in Truth.

Teach me to see through the victory of Jesus Christ and not through the fear of outcomes.

From this day forward, I will not bow to the false construct of failure, in Jesus Name.

I will not let failure name my process.

I will not let failure interpret my life.

I will not let failure silence my obedience.

I will not let failure steal my identity in Christ.

I belong to Jesus Christ.

My life is not my own.

I have been bought with a price.

Christ lives in me.

And because God Almighty is still working, nothing is wasted.

Nothing.

Not the tears.

Not the waiting.

Not the correction.

Not the pruning.

Not the detour.

Not the delay.

Not the fragments.

Not the season I misunderstood.

Not the chapter I thought disqualified me.

Nothing is wasted in the hands of the Sovereign Lord.

So I declare by faith:

Failure doesn’t exist.

God is still working.

Nothing is wasted.

In the mighty, matchless, victorious Name of Jesus Christ,
